THE LOTUS JACKET

L'elegance in a flower

Corneliani continues its journey towards Asia with the opening of its first flagship store in Shanghai, backed by an exceptional partnership. To celebrate this milestone, the brand is launching an exclusive limited-edition piece available exclusively in the Chinese market: the Lotus Jacket, designed in collaboration with Asian artist Wu Jian’an. Known for his unique ability to blend tradition and innovation through various materials and expressive forms, Wu was featured in the Chinese pavilion at the 57th Venice Biennale.

EXCELLENCE IN EVERY DETAIL

The standout feature of the jacket is a lotus flower crafted from soft suede, prominently displayed over the heart and on the left sleeve, blending the poetry, passion, and flair of both worlds.

Adding to the allure, an embroidered dragonfly delicately rests on the flower’s petals, signifying transformation and freedom. This evocative detail enhances the poetic essence of the collaboration, perfectly striking a balance between tradition and modernity.

“The poet Yang Wanli from the Song dynasty wrote that ‘the lotus bud barely reveals its tip, and a dragonfly already rests upon it,’ capturing the deep appreciation the Chinese people have for nature. The lotus flower symbolizes the birthplace of Corneliani and represents nature in Chinese culture. In my design, the flower’s gradual bloom, accompanied by a delicate dragonfly, illustrates the beauty of Corneliani’s connection with China and its own gradual blossoming—merging and integrating with our culture and traditions.”

ON THE SILK ROAD

The jacket is offered in two colors: the iconic deep blue and a crisp white, representing elegance and purity. The fabric couldn’t be anything other than silk - a nod to the historic trade routes that connect East and West - creating a sartorial masterpiece that reflects Corneliani's vision of contemporary, versatile, and timeless elegance.
